John Morgan's 4 month Check-Up

Today was John Morgan's 4 month check-up. He passed with flying colors! He comes in at 83% for both height and weight. He's 16 pounds, 14 ounces and 26 inches long!

The doc said he's ready to start solid foods, which we're very excited for! The poor little guy has been longingly staring at our food lately, and it's been so sad! So, bring on the rice cereal!

Here are some pictures I took yesterday while we were playing outside, enjoy!

Accomplishments Galore...

Just a quick post to tell ya'll how proud of myself I am!

It's 9:58am and this is what I've accomplished so far:
  • Ate breakfast first thing in the morning
  • Read my scriptures while I ate breakfast
  • Went to the gym - treadmill for 35 minutes (207 calories and 2.2 miles later) and weight resistance machines for 20 minutes
  • Packed Joe-Z a lunch
  • Helped Levi finish breakfast and cleaned the kitchen (dishes and counters anyway)
  • Played with our Alphabet Friends and blocks, and successfully cleaned them up together!
  • Had 4 bottles of water - that's a biggie for me

And now we're on our way to the post office!

This may not seem like much to some of you "go-getter's", but generally at this time of the day, the fog is still clearing from my eyes and I'm just beginning to think about what the day may hold. So, for us, it's been a great morning and it feels so good to accomplish so much!

Have a happy day!

"Hands of Heaven on Earth"

We've been going through some random bins in our garage lately, and tonight I found this poem. Although I can't remember when or where it came from, I really liked it and thought I'd share:

I knelt to pray when day was done
And prayed, "Oh Lord, bless everyone;
Lift from each saddened heart the pain
And let the sick be well again."

And then I woke another day
And carelessly went on my way;
The whole day long, I did not try
To wipe a tear from any eye.

I did not try to share the load
Of any brother on the road;
I did not even go to see
The sick man next door to me.

Yet once again when day was done
I prayed, "Oh Lord, bless everyone."
But as I prayed, into my ear
There came a voice that whispered clear:

"Pause now, my son, before you pray;
Whom have you tried to bless today?
God's sweetest blessings always go
By Hands that serve Him here below."

And then I hid my face and cried
"Forgive me, God, I have not tried.
Let me but live another day.
And I will live the way I pray."

Happy Birthday John Morgan...

4-month birthday that is!

Here are some updated pics of our {little} big boy!

We love you baby boy!

Swimming for the first time...

No, not John Morgan...Levi! I know, he's (almost) 2 years old and JUST went swimming for the first time! What can I say!?!

As was expected, he loved it!

Can you see how big that beach ball is? It was humongous! Any of you that know Levi know how much he adores any and all objects that are shaped like a ball, so this was hog heaven for him!

This is my Auntie Donna...she finally got to meet our {not so little} John Morgan!

It was so neat to go visit her (thanks for letting us come swim and hang out, and for the DELICIOUS cookies!) and talk with her about my Grandpa and that whole side of the family. I even learned that he had helped build the house she owns. It was such a neat experience, getting to know her better and being somewhere I knew my Grandpa had been...I felt a connection to him that I never had before. It was a great day!
